MLAs Mike Allen and Don Scott are taking heat for doing something that is completely legal.

The group Public Interest Alberta says it’s accusing those two of breaking the province’s election finances law because they donated to each others’ campaigns.

But Elections Alberta confirms that there is absolutely no law against doing that.

The group is also accusing another Tory MLA of accepting 12 thousand dollars in donations from a liquor store and its subsidiaries too; which also isn’t actually against the law.

Both Allen and Scott have said they made sure they complied with the financing laws.

Still, the group’s accusations have gotten play in the Edmonton Journal, as they’ve sent a letter to Elections Alberta asking for it to investigate.
