A team from the municipality has gone south of the border to get ideas on new sports facilities for Fort McMurray.
Councillor Sheldon Germain, Macdonald Island C-O-O Tim Reid, and others are in Columbus, Ohio today touring the Columbus Blue Jackets’ home rink and the Columbus Clippers’ baseball stadium.
They’re looking for idea on Mac Island’s upcoming stadium as well as a potential downtown arena to attract a Western Hockey League team to the city.
Germain has been tweeting pictures and updates on the trip on his account, @SheldonGermain.
The representatives are heading to Kansas City next before returning to Fort McMurray on Thursday night.
