Neighbouring communities lose CAOs

Both Athabasca and Lac La Biche Counties are looking for new Chief Administrative Officers.

The Athabasca Advocate reported today that its CAO, Gary Buchanan, was removed by its council last week.

It’s appointed an interim CAO for now.

Lac La Biche County also fired its CAO back in February, while its interim CAO has announced he’s leaving that post next week, leaving Lac La Biche without one.

Wood Buffalo has recently refused to make its CAO Glen Laubenstein available for interviews.

When asked about Laubenstein’s future, spokesman Brendan Proce said only that he “hasn’t announced any plans regarding his future.”
