No charges to be laid in Tower Road taxi robbery

RCMP say they don’t have enough information to lay any charges in the assault and robbery on Tower Road in January.

They say the investigation is now concluded but it could be reopened in the future.

It happened on January 13th when a man riding in a taxi was taken against his will up the road, and then robbed by multiple people.

The story spread on social media throughout the week before police finally confirmed they were investigating an assault a week later.

Police won’t confirm that any taxis were involved in the robbery, or that the man was left to walk down Tower Road after being robbed.
