Obama to expedite southern portion of Keystone XL

CNN is reporting that U.S. President Barack Obama will soon announce he’s fast-tracking the permit process for the southern portion of the Keystone XL oil sands pipeline.

The network says Obama will make it official on Thursday in Cushing, Oklahoma, which is where the southern half of the pipeline would begin.

Trans-Canada says it has yet to receive any confirmation that the process will be sped up.
