Oil sands pipeline spills 230k litres

A major oil sands pipeline has spilled 230 thousand litres of crude.

The Energy Resources Conservation Board says the Athabasca pipeline leaked 24 kilometres south of Elk Point.

The line runs from Fort McMurray to Hardisty and is used by companies like Cenovus and Husky to ship oil sands crude south.

It’s owned by Enbridge, which is currently twinning the pipeline.
