Oilsands production will probably triple by 2035, according to the National Energy Board.
The NEB says production will move up to 5.1 million barrels per day from the current 1.7 million.
That will mean the oil sands will make up 85 percent of Canada’s total oil supply.
Right now it’s 54 percent.
Federal natural resource minister Joe Oliver says the report shows Canada has to diversify its customer base.
Right now, oil sands crude is only shipped to the United States.
