Oil Sands Trade Show a success

The Oil Sands Trade Show & Conference wrapped up after two days at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre at MacDonald Island Park. It was the second straight year the Trade Show & Conference was hosted at MacDonald Island Park following a three-year hiatus.

“Once again, the event was a tremendous success,” said Tim Reid, Chief Operating Officer at MacDonald Island Park. “We were delighted to have the Oil Sands Trade Show & Conference here at MacDonald Island, and we look forward to a continued partnership in the years ahead.”

The conference featured 426 exhibitors, which was up 30 participants from last year’s event, while an estimated 4,000 attendees had passed through the doors by Wednesday afternoon. 87,000 square feet of exhibit space was used, up 5,000 square feet from 2010, as 300 delegates attended the conference portion of the gathering including international participants from the United States, China, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Brazil.

“The Oil Sands Trade Show & Conference is proud to have been in Fort McMurray again this year. With the expanded exhibition floor as well as our annual conference and special events attracting more than 4,000 registered participants, we are especially grateful for the role that MacDonald Island Park and the greater community has played in hosting us,” said Event Director Darren Brechin of DMG Events, which organized the Trade Show & Conference.
