Oklahoma governor calls for Keystone approval

Fresh off her own tour of the oil sands, the governor of Oklahoma is lending her support to the Keystone XL oil sands pipeline.

Mary Fallin says delays in building the project have been enormously frustrating.

But she also told the Global Petroleum Show in Calgary that she’s encouraged by TransCanada’s plan to build the southern half of the line from Oklahoma to Texas.

That will help relieve a big supply glut in Oklahoma that’s driving down the price for synthetic crude.

Fallin recently toured Devon’s Jackfish project near Conklin; she says the US ought to be buying its crude from a friendly country like Canada.
