Oklahoma governor tours, praises oil sands

The governor of Oklahoma is touring the region today.

Mary Fallin was at Devon’s Jackfish project near Conklin.

That SAGD project’s steam generators are manufactured in Tulsa.

Fallin says the oil sands contribute 80 million dollars annually to her state’s economy and help support 1,000 jobs.

Devon is hoping to expand Jackfish’s production from 55 thousand to 150 thousand barrels per day by the end of this decade.
