One man dead in 881 crash

A man is dead after a crash on Highway 881 last night.

Lac La Biche RCMP say slippery conditions were a significant factor when a pickup truck rear ended a logging truck at about 11 p.m. last night.

The passenger in the pickup was pronounced dead on scene. The driver pickup was injured and rushed to a local hospital. Today, he was airlifted to Edmonton.

The driver of the logging truck was assessed and treated on scene. RCMP issued a no travel advisory because of the slippery conditions.

Police say conditions were extremely slippery, and it caused two of their vehicles swerved into the ditch last night. RCMP also says one fire truck is a write-off after being damaged in a crash.

Lac La Biche  RCMP are currently responding to multiple crashes.
