Parliament shooter not linked to terror group

The man that killed a soldier in Ottawa yesterday was not on the RCMP’s list of potential high-risk travellers.

RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson says there’s no evidence of a link between Michael Zehaf Bibeau and Martin Couture-Rouleau, who ran down two Canadian soldiers in Quebec on Monday.

The gun used in the shooting was identified as a 30-30 Winchester rifle, that Bibeau was not authorized to own.

Surveillance footage shows him getting out of his car, running up to the parliament, hijacking an MP’s car and running into the centre block.
