Parsons Creek long-term care facility on tonight's council agenda

The Parsons Creek long-term care facility is back on council’s agenda tonight.

Council’s being asked to re-designate a piece of land in the first phase of development, to allow for the long-term and urgent care facility.

It would be spread over almost two and a half acres north of Timberlea.

Back in November, council voted to delay its decision until a solution had been worked out for an Aging in Place facility at Willow Square downtown.

The province is finalizing buying the land from the feds and then plans to transfer it to the municpality.

Council’s also being asked to approve more than $66-million for road improvements to 63 and 69 as part of the land exchange agreement with the province.

Council will also look at starting a committee that will allow seniors to have a say on services.
