Police investigate armed robbery in Thickwood

On December 9, 2011, at approximately 9:15 pm, Wood Buffalo RCMP responded to a call of an armed robbery at the Scotia Bank in the Thickwood area of Fort McMurray. A female was in the process of depositing approximately $2200.00 as the night deposit from her place of employment when she was approached by an unknown male. The suspect, wearing black face covering, gloves, white T-Shirt, and a black leather jacket, produced a firearm and demanded all her money. The incident unfolded in the front lobby of the bank near the ATM/Night Deposit box. No injury was reported as a result of this occurrence. The police investigation continues.
