Premier Redford travels to N.B. next week to talk west-east pipeline

Next week the Premier will be traveling to meet her New Brunswick counterpart and talk west-east pipeline.

Alison Redford and David Alward will meet next Friday to discuss the proposed idea, that would ship crude from Alberta to the East Coast.

She’ll tour the Irving Oil refinery in Sain John, the largest refinery in the whole country, as well as speak to the city’s board of trade.

Alward came to Alberta in February where he welcomed the prospect of a pipeline shipping oil to his province.

Until the 17th, TransCanada is looking for solid backing from shippers before deciding whether to convert a natural gas pipeline to carry crude to Quebec.

It would then open the possibility of an extension to Saint John.
