The Prestige Fighting Championship is in town tonight at the Casman.
MMA light heavyweight Dwayne Lewis is from Fort McMurray.
He says he’s psyched to be here.
“Oh man, I’m so excited, this has been seven years in the making for me,” he explains, “ever since I started, I’ve always wanted to fight at home, and I finally get the chance. I’m pretty pumped.”
He says it’s surreal fighting in his hometown.
“I’m sure when I’m getting warmed up and getting ready to walk out there, the jitters are going to kick in a little bit, Just because, like I said, it’s the first one at home,” he continues, “I remember walking out with Sandy when Sandy fought. I got emotionally walking out with him at the home town crowd, so I can just imagine for myself, it’s going to be a roller-coaster”
He’s taking on Clay Davidson in the main event.
Lewis says they’ve fought before.
“Yeah, it was 2007 I fought him. So, a long time ago, so we’re two completely different fighters right now,” he continues, “so, I don’t think the first fight even is a factor in this one coming up.”
The show starts at 7.
