The province is implementing two of Mike Allen’s biggest recommendations on Highway 63.

It announced today that it’ll add two more officers to patrol the highway by the August long weekend, another two by the end of August, and 12 more by early next year.

Alberta Transportation will also install six digital signs that’ll tell drivers how fast they’re going; they’ll be moved every week.

The province is also increasing billboard and radio campaigns on safe driving.

The government also says Transport Minister Ric McIver will come up with financial options to accelerate the twinning of the highway; but it didn’t give a timeline for that.
