The province is defending its choice to move Fort McMurray’s planned seniors centre from Willow Square to Parson’s Creek.

In a release today, Seniors Minister George VanderBurg says all the indicators point to the new site as the best choice.

The province says Parsons Creek will have more room for expansion, be finished sooner, and be connected to a new health centre.

But Vanderburg admits the government could’ve done a better job consulting with local seniors before making the decision.

Vanderburg will meet with the Golden Years Society this Thursday afternoon, along with the ministers of Health and Infrastructure.
