Province looks to reduce power bills

With power bills spiking, the province says it’s looking at ways to bring the cost of electricity down.

The government says it’ll review ways to keep prices down and ask that price add-ons on power bills be frozen while it makes that review.

Energy Minister Ted Morton also says the government will move ahead with two new electricity lines between Edmonton and Calgary – but will ask the Utilities commission to look at ways of spreading out the cost so lessen the impact on taxpayers.
