Province will miss hospital wait time target

The Provincial Government says it will not reach its targets for wait times next month.

The goal A-H-S tried to reach was admitting 60 per cent of patients within eight hours.

Health Minister Fred Horne blames an increase in numbers and aging patients.

Friends of Medicare Executive Director David Eggen says their final goal of 90 per cent is also highly unlikely.

Currently about half of patients are seen within eight hours.
