RCMP are raising awareness about animal abuse

RCMP are raising awarness about animal abuse.

According to the Animal Protection Act an animal would be in distress if it is abused or subjected to undue hardship, privation, or neglect.

A person who owns an animal needs to make sure that it has food and water, its cared for if it is ill or wounded, that it has proper shelter, ventilation and space and protected from severe heat or cold.

It is in the hands of the RCMP to handle all animal abuse investigations, and if you see or suspect an animal is being abused, you can call them at (780) 788-4000.

Police also say that if you want to help animals in the region to volunteer at the local SPCA.
