At approximately 12:10 a.m. on August 30th, 2011 the Wood Buffalo RCMP were notified of an assault that occurred in the area of 600 Signal Road. A female in her late teens had been walking on a green space in the general area when an unknown male grabbed the female and assaulted her. In the course of the struggle the female was able to get away.
The female did not sustain any significant injuries and the motive behind the incident is not known at this time. RCMP continue to investigate and it is unknown if this incident was a random or targeted attack.
The male is described as:
• 5’10’’ to 6′ tall
• average build
• dark hair
• East Indian descent
• wearing blue jeans
• black hat
• baby blue t-shirt with white writing and white collared sleeves
• dark facial hair groomed in a full beard
