The RCMP has been investigating threats of cyber attacks against oilsands companies.
Bloomberg News obtained documents showing the police and Public Safety Department are looking at threats by the Anonymous hacker group.
A police report from 2011 said their targets included BP, Canadian Oil Sands Limited, Suncor, and Nexen.
The report also warned that the hacker group had already infiltrated the Toronto police, Bank of America, and the Australian and Syrian governments.
