Police are looking for a newer model BMW 3 series in connection to the killing of 25-year old man in Fort McMurray.

Jonathan Bennett’s body was found inside his home on Grandview Drive on Jan. 6, 2015, an autopsy showed that Bennett did not die from the fire.

“Our investigators found it was important to release Jonathan’s name and the vehicle in the video and the person walking,” says Corporal George Cameron, Wood Buffalo RCMP. “We’re just hoping that someone will come forward and give us some information that’s going to help us solve this homicide.”

Mounties are not releasing the cause of death due to the sensitivity of the investigation and they’ve yet to receive the final report from fire investigators as to what caused Bennett’s home to go up in flames.

Police are looking for the BMW in question, a picture is below, as well as the man in the video copied below.

The surveillance was taken from a neighbouring house on Grandview Drive.

He was wearing red or orange coloured work coveralls with reflective bands on the sleeves and pant legs and was walking in the direction of Bennett’s home shortly before the fire began.

The RCMP says the BMW in question was seen driving past Bennett’s home where he lived with two roommates several times on the day before the fire was reported.

“We’d like to be able to speak with the individuals in the video. The number of people who work in Fort McMurray, but live elsewhere, can make locating people we’d like to speak to a bit harder at times,” says Corporal Erick Youngstrom.

If you have any information that could help the RCMP identify the white car, the driver, or the man on foot contact the Wood Buffalo RCMP at (587) 644-1271.
