Redford hosts Western counterparts this week

The Western premiers will be meeting in Edmonton this week, and Alison Redford is hinting that the opinions of a certain federal NDP leader will likely be on the agenda.
Although Redford didn’t mention Tom Mulcair by name, she did say that the group will likely be discussing the recent views by other national leaders.
Mulcair made headlines recently by saying strong growth in the petroleum industry, particularly in the oilsands, has led to a higher dollar which in turn is hurting manufacturers in Central Canada.
Redford also says that environmental regulation, community development, and a proposal for a national energy strategy will also be on the agenda.
