Alberta’s premier is promoting the province in the U.S. capital today. Alison Redford is in Washington DC to promote the province’s environmental record and claim Alberta is positioned as a safe and responsible energy partner for the U.S. She says she’ll be focusing on more than just the proposed Keystone XL pipeline. Redford brushed off criticism that her government didn’t do enough to lobby for the now-delayed project.
That project would have pumped oil sands crude to refineries on the U.S. gulf coast. But last week, the Obama administration delayed its final decision on it until 2013.
