Residents enjoy SummersEND with great weather

Day three of the SummersEND Country Music Jubilee Festival was the busiest of them all as the concert series was closed with George Canyon featuring special guests One More Girl.

“What a day for Wood Buffalo”, said Jennifer Lamontagne, Lead Event Coordinator of Events Wood Buffalo. “Big Spirit was on display all throughout MacDonald Island as residents rushed down here in crowds to enjoy the various activities.”

Day three of SummersEND Country Music Jubilee saw the continuation of the Blueberry Carnival Midway with record numbers of citizens enjoying the rides, food and games. Fort McMurray Tourism hosted its 8th Annual Fish Fry. The Portraits of Honour were on display at MacDonald Island with full support from the community and George Canyon, who made a special reference during his performance.

Day two of SummersEND came to life at MacDonald Island Park with country star Dierks Bentley and rising star Ryan Laird.

“We were proud to host the Portraits of Honour mural during SummersEND at MacDonald Island Park,” said Tim Reid, Chief Operating Officer at MacDonald Island Park. “It is a very special way to honour the brave men and women who serve our country in the Canadian Armed Forces.”
