The risk of a wildfire happening is back up to high for the region – meaning a fire can start pretty easily.
Environment and Sustainable Resource Development says there’s no fires now, but since March 1st, aka the beginning of wildfire season, 79 wildfires have burned over 3,100 acres.
The province on a whole has recorded 987 wildfires which have burned almost 54,000 acres.
There are no fire bans or advisories in effect for the area.
