RMWB: Canada Day schedule is out

Because Events Wood Buffalo is no more, the city says it’s taking over the Canada Day events.

It teamed with the Regional Recreation Corporation to do the events at MacDonald Island, and the traditional parade down Franklin Avenue

Starting June 30th at 9PM, there’ll be entertainment followed by fireworks at midnight.

July 1st will start of with a pancake breakfast at 9AM, then at 11AM there’ll be a parade and the family activities will close out around 5PM.

The city says during Tuesday’s afternoon activities, there’ll  two performances by Mike the Knight, face painting, balloon artists and more.

It says entertainment for Monday night will be announced soon.

11:59 p.m. Fireworks at MacDonald Island Park
July 1
9-11 a.m. Pancake breakfast at MacDonald Island Park
11 a.m. Parade along Franklin Avenue
Noon-5 p.m. Family activities at MacDonald Island Park

The parade route starts at Morrison Street and goes south to Riedel Street.

Registration for floats and volunteer opportunities starts June 3.
