The city and the Fort McMurray Fire Fighters’ Local 2494 International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) have officially agreed on a new three-year contract.
Council passed the proposal at its meeting on June 24, which was signed off on yesterday.
Highlights of the deal include wage increases of 10.5% over the deal.
As well, there’s a new time-off policy for members in training, and a pension plan that includes employer contributions.
The new agreement extends through to the end of 2016.
