The RMWB is welcoming people to pack council chambers for a public hearing on bylaws that will make way for development in the region.

The August 26 meeting will discuss bylaws to close roads in Anzac and the Fort Hills mine project. Closing a road at the oilsands site will lead to more construction. The road closures in Anzac will trigger development of a 52 acre residential neighbourhood.

Another bylaw adopts the Athabasca Power Centre Area Structure Plan along Highway 63, north of the city.

Also on the agenda is an item to redesignate a property north of Taiga Nova Eco Industrial park, to make way for a shopping centre.
