Roger Moore says James Bond may be known as a ladies man, but Moore has slept with more women.
Starpulse reports that the 84-year-old British actor who played Bond from 1973 – 1985 has admitted that he’s never had trouble finding romantic partners.
“I’ve always been a hit with the ladies,” Moore reportedly said, speaking to the Daily Mail. “I couldn’t possibly say how many I’ve been out with because I’m a gentleman… I just haven’t kept count.”
Though he refuses to dish on just how many, Moore says he’s certain of one thing: “I’ve had more women than James Bond.”
Before he stepped into the tux to play 007 in 1973, the veteran actor was already famous for having played suave cat burglar Simon Templar on TV’s The Saint. Moore says his reputation for smoothness was well deserved – and only made him more popular.
“I think a lot of the women who threw themselves at me thought they were with James Bond or Simon Templar rather than Roger Moore,” he says, “Because I was the same on screen as off screen.”
Moore, who has been married four times, is currently married to Kristina Tholstrup. The star made waves earlier this month when he revealed he’d been the subject of abuse in two of his earlier marriages.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Moore made the confession to Piers Morgan on his new show Life Stories.
