Fort McMurray-Conklin MLA Don Scott will head up a new initiative to make travel and expenses more transparent in government.
The Associate Minister of Accountability, Transparency and Transformation says he’ll create stricter reporting requirements for Cabinet Ministers, as well as government executives and agencies, boards and commissions.
But there’s no mention of regular MLA expenses, which Alison Redford has previously promised to post online.
Scott also says he’ll bring in an external human resources company to evaluate hiring practices in Alberta Health Services after the recent expense scandal there.
