Semi-truck hits construction worker on 63

Police are investigating a Highway 63 crash that put a construction worker in hospital.

At about 8 p.m. yesterday, Boyle RCMP was called to kilometre marker 134, after a worker flagging traffic on the side of the road was hit by a semi-truck.

The worker was airlifted to hospital, and police still hadn’t identified the man or where he worked as of last night.

The crash happened in a 50 km/hour construction zone, where crews are twinning the highway. Traffic in the area was reduced to one lane for several hours.
