Shots fired near hospital

A shooting downtown on Saturday afternoon closed Hospital Street for much of the day.
It happened early in the afternoon, shutting down the street and its access to Highway 63; although access remained possible from Abasand Drive.
RCMP officers set up barricades during their investigation.
The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo has advised only that the reason for the road closure was a shooting; it says the RCMP will be releasing more information as it becomes available.
