The Coker unit at Syncrude that was shut down after a workplace accident should be back up and running by the end of the week.

Bloomberg is reporting that coker 8-1 is almost ready; it’s currently in circulation, meaning that it’s idling and not shut down anymore.

Canadian Oil Sands Limited says it won’t likely provide an update on the coker unless there’s a major impact on their 2012 production outlook.

It was shut down last Friday after two workers were sprayed with bitumen during a valve test.
