Six people charged in drug bust

On July 25, 2011, the Wood Buffalo RCMP executed a Judicailly Authorized Search Warrant on a downtown residence and several motor vehicles in the downtown area.

After gaining access to the vehicles and residence the RCMP seized a firearm, an undisclosed amount of cash, and substances believed to be cocaine and oxycodone. As a result of the search, the following persons are being charged:

Shawn Squires (29 year old male of Lloydminster, Sk):
• 1 count of Unsafe storage of a firearm
• 1 count of Unsafe storage of ammunition
• 1 count of Possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized
• 1 count of Possession of a firearm while prohibited
• 1 count of Breach of a court order

Phyllis McFadden (52 year old female of Fort McMurray, Ab):
• 1 count of Unsafe storage of a firearm
• 1 count of Unsafe storage of ammunition
• 1 count of Possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized

Sheena Antoine (22 year old female of The Pas, Mb):
• 1 count of Breach of probation

The above listed persons are all being charged with 1 count each of Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and 1 count of Possession of proceeds of crime.

In addition, three Fort McMurray residents Bryan Hogan (27 years old male), William Severs (72 year old male), Irene Shortman (34 year old female) are also being charged with 1 count each of Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and 1 count of Possession of proceeds of crime.

Squires and Severs have been remanded in custody until their next court date. McFadden, Antoine, Hogan, and Shortman had been released on various amounts of cash bail. The next appearance for all will be August 9, 2011 in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
