Slow down for Back to School: RCMP

Wood Buffalo RCMP will have officers out in full force on Monday as students head back to the classroom.

“We all have a role to play in keeping our students safe this school year, drive responsibly and be a positive role model on the streets of Wood Buffalo,” said Const. Ashley Quallie.

Police will be enforcing the 30km/hr speed limit in all school zones. Municipal Law Enforcement officers will also be on patrol in school zones encouraging drivers to follow parking bylaws.

RCMP are also reminding all drivers to keep an eye our for school buses now they’ll be back on the roads as well.

There is a $543 fine for failing to stop when a bus’s lights are flashing and the stop sign is out.
