Going to Edmonton? The SPCA needs you.

UPDATE:

The SPCA yesterday looked to the public to help with its over capacity shelter.

Shortly after the Humane Society in Edmonton contacted them.

It has offered to take 15 dogs and make them available for adoption in Edmonton, IF the SPCA can arrange transportation by Monday.

Now the SPCA is looking for people traveling to Edmonton this weekend who can take some dogs with them.

If you can help, call the SPCA at (780) 743-8997.

The local SPCA is packed.

It says that the amount of animals coming in are usually numbers seen during the summer.

In the past few weeks an influx of dogs have come in through Animal Control Services on behalf of the RMWB.

The shelter is concerned about the well-being of the animals in an overcrowded shelter.

Animals are being housed in offices, cages and hallways at the shelter.

It is looking for people able to foster an SPCA dog for a few weeks, to help alleviate the stresses on animals and staff because of the capacity.

The SPCA will provide you with all food and proper care supplies necessary to look after the foster pet.

It is also looking for people wanting to adopt a new addition to their family.

If you can help, call the SPCA at (780) 743-8997.
