Stalled pipelines costing $30m-$70m every day: report

The Canada West Foundation is putting a price tag on stalled oil sands pipelines.

The think tank says each stalled project, from Keystone XL to Northern Gateway to Trans Mountain, costs between 30 million and 70 million dollars every day.

It says if the projects don’t go ahead, Canada would miss out on 1.3 trillion dollars in economic activity between now and 2035.

The report was paid for by the Saskatchewan government.

It says most export pipelines take oil to the U.S. midwest, but markets on the east coast, gulf coast, and in Asia are more important today.
