SubZero Challenge launches December 1

The Centre of Hope launches its $50,000 Below Zero challenge Tuesday, raising funds to operate the centre throughout the year.

The SubZero Challenge runs December 1 to March 1 and looks to create awareness and raise funds for the Centre of Hope over the three-month campaign.

“As we look to kick off our 5th annual Subzero Challenge we are excited and optimistic about reaching our goal of $50,000 before March 01st. We have created a few fun and unique events that we can’t wait to launch this year and, of course, we are bringing back the events our community has come love, like Toque Tuesday,” said Barb Rex, Fund Development and Communications for the Centre of Hope.

December 1 also coincides with Giving Tuesday, a national day of giving to help kick off the most philanthropic month of the year.

The Centre’s goal on that day is to raise $10,000 to help kick-start the campaign.

Last year the goal was $40,000 and with the generosity of our community the Centre of Hope was able to raise over $47,000. Those funds helped the Centre keep our doors open all year.

All proceeds raised this year will go towards ensuring patrons at the Centre of Hope receive the best possible supports as they look to become more self-sufficient. The focus at the Centre is on long-term strategies to support our patrons and the money raised through the three-month campaign will support that mission.

All donations can be made online, dropped off at the Centre of Hope at 1 McLeod Street, or you can contact Barb Rex to schedule a pick up. She can be reached at work at 780-791-0077 ext 3005 or on her cell at 587-646-4904.
