Suncor misses 2012 production target

Suncor has missed its production target for 2012.

The company says it finished the year with an average of 324 thousand barrels of bitumen per day in production.

That’s outside the guidance range of 325 to 340 thousand bpd that it projected at the end of October.

But last month, the company had said it expected to finish the year within that range – just at the lower end.

December was its best month of the year, with an average of 385 thousand bpd.

But that wasn’t enough to make up for a slow October and November, which had unplanned maintenance bring down the numbers.
