Syncrude is offering a free shuttle to its Mildred Lake site to help evacuees collect their leftover vehicles at its site. Beginning May. 28, there will be a daily morning bus leaving from Northlands in Edmonton to Mildred Lake with a pick-up in Grassland. The shuttle will also run on May. 29 and May. 30.

“It will operate on a first-come, first-serve basis with 50 seats available each day by registration only,” noted the company in a press release Thursday. “While Syncrude will offer refueling for vehicles, there are only three mobile stations available for diesel and gasoline. As a result, we’re limiing the number of vehicles being picked up each day to ensure refueling is done in time for people to drive back during daylight hours.”

The next available location to refuel will be Wandering River. Syncrude will also help boost dead batteries and sort deflated tires.

There will be no access to camp, thus people collecting their vehicles will need to bring enough food and water for the round trip.

Syncrude is asking passengers to bring a valid ID.
