Syncrude producing less in August compared to July

Canadian Oil Sands Ltd. released its monthly production rates for Syncrude, saying the company saw lower production rates in August than in July.

Still, the totals were higher than the average so far for all of 2015.

In August Syncrude was producing on average 308,600 barrels a day compared to 326,100 each day in July.

Year to date the average is 267,500 barrels a day.

Net production for Canadian Oil Sands was on average 113,400 barrels a day in August compared to an average of 119,800 barrels a day in July and 98,000 barrels a day, on average, year to date.
