The winterPLAY Festival is an annual celebration of our region’s climate, culture and people.
Through sports, arts, culture and recreation winterPLAY strengthens the cohesion of all communities within the Wood Buffalo region. Featured festival venues include some of the most picturesque outdoor vistas this region has to offer. Indoor venues range from state-of-the-art theatre and sporting facilities to rustic, rural community halls.
Outdoor activities include pond hockey, snowmobiling, skiing, and snowboarding to name just a few. Indoor activities include performances featuring music, theatre and dance, as well as plenty of family-oriented activities and events combined with more adult-geared performances.
