Thickwood Cougar still at large

A cougar spotted in Thickwood on Ross Haven last night is still at large.

Wood Buffalo RCMP and Alberta Fish and Wild Life were made aware of the roaming cougar in the Thickwood area.

The cougar was reportedly struck by a truck and may be injured.

Mounties responded to the call and were unable to locate the cougar, Alberta Fish and Wild Life has not yet returned our call for more information.

Cougars are the second heaviest feline in the Western Hemisphere and killed a 30 year old female in Banff National Park in 2001.
