This weekend, it's all about the food

Last year, the drive provided 33 percent of its annual food stocks and approximately 50 percent of its annual budget.

The Food Drive also gathers baby supplies, toilet paper and feminine hygiene products as they are some of the most expensive items out there.

Last year they delivered 1,300 hampers helping more than 3,000 people here in Wood Buffalo.

Syncrude yesterday, kicked off the annual Food Bank Drive with a 65 thousand dollar donation.

Over the last seven years it has now donated $425,000.

The Corporate Challenge yesterday in total raised $250,000.

Trucks will be parked outside all local grocery stores and Wal-Mart today and Saturday from 9 to 9 and Sunday from 9 to 5.

Country 93.3 and Rock 97.9 will be broadcasting live.

This year’s goal is to raise enough food to feed more than 800 families.
