Train carrying crude oil derails in northwest New Brunswick

CN Rail says a fire caused by a train derailment in northwest New Brunswick is under control.

17 cars derailed near Wapske last night, with five of them carrying crude oil, and four carrying liquid propane.

150 people in Plaster Rock and nearby areas were evacuated, but no one was injured in the accident.

The federal Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash, and says it’s looking at a broken axle and the brake system.
