TransCanada says despite delays, it’s going ahead with plans to make the proposed Keystone XL pipeline even longer.

It says it’ll now plan to end the pipeline eighty kilometres further, so it’ll end in Houston, Texas.

That will more than double the refinery market that the pipeline will be able to access.

The announcement comes on the heels of a University of Calgary study that says oil sands pipelines could boost Canadian economic growth by more than 130 billion dollars by 2030.
