Two drivers caught racing on 63

The RCMP’s Integrated Traffic Unit says two drivers are facing licence suspensions after being caught speeding on Highway 63.

Last night about 30 km south of town, police pulled over three vehicles traveling 171, 168, and 124 km/h respectively.

The first two were racing each other, while the third was trailing behind.

A 28-year-old was charged with racing, speeding, driving while suspended and also had his Santa Fe seized for 30 days.

He’s got 3 mandatory court tickets where he could lose his license for six months on top of fines.

A 32-year old was charged with racing and speeding, picking up 2 mandatory court tickets.

The third, a 55-year-old man, was charged with speeding.

As well, a driver going 104 km/h in a 50 km/h construction zone near Thickwood was stopped.

He’ll  be in court, where he faces a suspension.
